April 2012 Sermon Series

After the resurrection of Jesus Christ, the early disciples found themselves in precarious moments that required them to trust boldly in the words that Jesus told them before He went to the cross:

“Do not let your hearts be troubled.  Trust in God, and trust also in me … I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father … And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you.  He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth.” (John 14:1, 12, 16-17).

Now, sitting in the Upper Room, fishing in the Sea of Galilee, and on the Road to Emmaus, the disciples were faced with the choice of whether to continue following the resurrected Christ - not sure where it was going - or turning back and resuming life as it was before meeting Jesus.  And we are faced with that same choice, asking “which way?” from here.
