January 2012 Sermon Series

"The Me I Want to Be"

Every New Year's Eve, many people create their New Year's Resolutions for the next year. As we read the Top Ten Resolutions listed by "Time Magazine," they were pretty much what we expected: lose weight, exercise more, spend less money, quit smoking, and the list goes on. As reported by "Statistic Brain," 46% of Americans make New Year's resolutions, but only 8% are successful in achieving their goals. Why? Because it is hard to change. It means creating a plan and doing things differently so we can be a different people.

Within each of us, there is a longing and desire to discover the person God has created us to be and become. Sometimes we feel like we are moving toward becoming those people - perhaps succeeding in our goals for the New Year - and then there are times when we are derailed and thrown off course. Imagine what our lives would be like if this year we were to resolve to take the necessary steps toward growing into God's best version of ourselves. 2012 would be a year like none other!

In this sermon series, we discovered the steps God has for us to be "The Me I Want To Be" and discovered together the people God had in mind when He thought us up. Together, we can resolve to allow the One who is sitting on the throne to make everything new.
