It is with great excitement that we announce that First Church Melbourne is partnering with and hosting Space Coast Young Life group for the upcoming year. Young Life is one of the premiere youth ministry organizations in the United States, and we’re eager to partner with them as we seek new and innovative ways to best minister to the teenagers in our church and community.

An already well-established ministry in the Melbourne community, Young Life focuses on high-energy, Christ-centered youth group meetings that attract teens from a wide range of backgrounds. An already established group in the community, Young Life will be hosting their students at First Church, joining alongside our high school-aged teens.

Young Life is a 9th-12th grade ministry, and meets on Monday evenings from 7:30 to 8:30pm.  As a result, we will be ending our Wednesday youth meeting time for the time being and including our high-schoolers with Young Life’s ministry, which is being hosted in the Warehouse at our campus.

Andy Ward, who was raised in First United Methodist Church of Oviedo and is a graduate of Florida State, will direct Young Life at First Church. Also partnering with Young Life at First Church is Daniel Moore, our Interim Student Ministries Coordinator, who is also a graduate of Duke and who was raised in First Church ministries.

Partnering with Young Life for high school ministry also affords First Church a tremendous opportunity to focus on junior-high specific ministries, and seek new ways to build bridges between children and student ministry. It is also a hope that this ministry will better meet the needs of our 7th and 8th grade students.
