Congregational Care Ministry Team

"So then, while we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith."  Galatians 6:10

At First Church, we seek to "Love God, Love People, and Change the World." In order to fulfill that mission, we believe that the Holy Spirit works in the community through fellowship, and caring for one another during times of pain and times of joy. When we spend time with each other, our love builds and invites others to experience real community through the local church. Below are various areas of care ministry we offer here at First Church. To learn more about the ministries, or to submit a need or request, please send an e-mail to or call the church office at 321.723.6761.

Visitation Ministry:

Our hospital visitation team tends to our congregation and friends of First Church who are in Holmes Regional Medical Center, Palm Bay Community Hospital, and Wuesthoff Hospital in Melbourne. In emergencies and prior to major surgeries, a pastor will visit and offer prayer. If you would like for the office to know about a hospital admittance, please contact the church office at 321.723.6761.

As we age and when we face illness, often we feel neglected or overlooked. First Church's Visitation Ministry serves by making sure that no one is forgotten and that each elderly or ill person knows that their church family cares. The team members visit as scheduled with those who are no longer able to attend worship, offering handwritten cards, calls, and Holy Communion.

Prayer Ministry:

Every prayer request received is carefully lifted up by members of our prayer ministry team. Requests may be submitted by sending an e-mail to, by completing the Connect Card on Sunday morning, or by calling the church office at 321.723.6761.

Family Ministry:

This team provides care for new families in our community of faith including providing meals when the baby comes home.

Funeral Ministry:

This team provides hospitality and care for those who have experienced losss as well as helps with receptions and follow up with the family.

Community Resource Center:

If you are looking for financial aid, counseling, support groups, employment opportunities, housing assistance, etc. in the community, please visit the Receptionist Desk in the church office for a listing of local resources available to you.
